A Solider's Sketchbook

A collection of letters, original artwork, and archival photographs, this book chronicles New Yorker Cartoonist Joseph Farris’ experiences in World War II and how they shaped him both as a person, and an artist.

I collected, sorted and logged all of the letters and artwork and Joseph had from the war and then matched them to the text, creating a rich textured book that not only shows his individual story, but through the use of archival photographs, ties it into the larger story of World War II.
